Having taught for 23 years and hailing from Minnesota in the U.S., Mrs. Sydney Conzemius has been teaching at SIS since 2004. Before coming to SIS, she taught English and social studies courses in many private schools in the U.S. and in Mexico. While at SIS, she has guided many students in preparation for the AP English Literature exam as well as teaching several other courses in the high school English department. She has also taught Current Events and for three years was the advisor for the SIS Yearbook. Over the past six years, she has been the advisor for the HS Student Council (StuCo). She really enjoys the opportunity to get to know her students outside the classroom and to help nourish their many talents and interests.

Having recently completed her Master's Degree in School Library and Information Technologies at Mansfield University in the U.S., Mrs. Conzemius will move into the position of Head Librarian for the 2011 - 2012 school year. She looks forward to fostering information literacy skills among all SIS students and to promoting reading as effective preparation for future learning.

Her husband, Jeff Conzemius, teaches social studies in the high school and physical education in the middle school. They have two children enrolled in the elementary school. As a family, they love to travel and spend time with friends and family. Mrs. Conzemius is an avid reader who also enjoys art history, watching films, and doing needlepoint projects.
